All Hail Taxi! Or Hail Something-that-would-frustrate-you!

When I first got here, I always wonder why my relatives and friends automatically have their temper on critical level the moment they enter a cab. A simple question, a tiny mistake or a simple comment from the driver would spark them to angst.

I was polite the first few months I was here. I was overflowing with 'Please' when telling them something and 'Sorry' when they don't understand me. As I required to ride a taxi more and more, I was feeling my patience going... going... gone...

Seriously - yours would too if you have to put up with their crap at least twice a day.

Here are some of it:
  • In that small space, they would dare fart.

It's our spices, not our hygiene!
uhhmmm... i dont think so.

So when they open the window, reserve some air. Some don't even do that courtesy believing you wont be able to distinguish their farts from their body odor. Oh boy, I wanted to tell them I do. Which would open the debate that they DO smell. (Its the spices, not our hygiene! Uhhmm.... I don't think so... )

I rather you keep the change!

  • Picking their nose then using the same hands to give your change.
  • Being envious when you listen to your head seat. In retaliation of your selfishness, they would open their radio to high volume so you wont hear your own music.
  • Their main objective is to get you where you want to go - your safety comes second (they use their mobiles while driving), and your budget (they would go the longest route possible that is riddled with stop signs and bad traffic) third.
  • They would treat you like stupid if you don't speak their language. (Geez,  90% of the people working here expatriates, and most company thrive from the tourism trade. Sorry for expecting you to communicate and understand basic English).
  • They learned everything by themselves. So you should know where and how to go to your destination just in case you got a new driver. (Otherwise bear the burden of extra cost but get a free city tour in the process.)
It would be unfair to list only those that irritates a passenger. There are good and respectful drivers that urge me to really mean it when I say keep the change. Most of them do greet you and calls you 'My Friend'. Others try to strike up a conversation then shuts up when they feel like you are too tried to think.

Especially this one really happy driver who was old enough to be my grandfather, but still danced to and sang along with the newest Madonna song. He sure ended my day with a smile.

Big Bang start

Big Bang theory states that the Universe was once in an extremely hot and dense state which expanded rapidly. This rapid expansion caused the young Universe to cool and resulted in its present continuously expanding state. (word by word explanation from Wikipedia)

Which is sort of how this blog started.

The suggestions to start this sort of floated around as a possibility.

I talk a lot. I think a lot. i dream a lot. I'm online a lot. Maybe blogging would be ideal for me!

But they never met, thus though they do have sense, it didn't really pushed me to pursue it (in other words - i was LAZY).

Then my friend contacted me and asked my opinions on the blog he started - and i was like - wait a minute! You have a BLOG of your OWN?!

That was like the spark! (envy in a good sense i guess)

That served as adrenaline for me:
...So i followed his blog, poke around his site...
...I remembered my other friends have their own blog and i opened and look at it...
...then i researched which blogging sites are the best (they say its wordpress - but since i got a google account already i choose this)....
... created an account...
...got stuck about a minute on blog name and blogger name (so they ended up the same. I would change it later)...
...started typing this entry will be done maybe in the next few minutes...

I don't know what's chasing me but 30 minutes after he PMed me,

I HAVE MY BLOG AND MY FIRST ENTRY!!!

I many not sound unique, but so do other blogger out there. But the point is - they wanted to be heard. he particularly wanted to share something. So do I.

And just like the Universe's Big Bang,  i may not always finish an article in records time, but i would definitely continue to expand my thoughts.
